My name is Christopher P Jones. I am a novelist and art critic. I write historical, mystery and literary fiction. I am also an art critic and art historian. I am fascinated by the possibility of opening up a window onto the past.
Art history & essays
I write essays and articles on art and its history. I review art exhibitions, specialising in modern and contemporary art. I am the London Art Critic for Riot Material magazine, a print and web arts journal.
My particular areas of interest are 20th century German Expressionism, 19th century French art, and contemporary painting. I am currently working on an idiosyncratic guide to the National Gallery, London.
I’ve recently published my debut novel, Berlin Vertigo, the first in a 3-part series based in Berlin during the late 1920s and early 1930s.
Read more about how one of my favourite works of art inspired me to write it.
The second book in the series, Vanished in Berlin, is available now.
I write regularly on Medium where I have a considerable following and have achieved Top Writer in Art, Creativity, Inspiration, History and Travel.
